Terms & Conditions of STREAMERS

Art. 1 – Streamers
Streamers shows artistic projects from concept, creation, development to refinement, in an ongoing online process, which presents contemporary artwork and its relationship with the context it is questioning or describing.

Your interests, opinions, visions or investigations are shared in new viewer heights, you provide a visual platform as the project-work evolves. You can add artwork or photographs as your project develops, reveal the steps behind your creative process, studies, notes, sketches, or those telling public or private moments of revelation or experience. You should contextualize your artwork, thinking of your studio, the geographical locations, communities or persons, as well as the institutions or organisations which may become an integral part of your work. Think of the tears and the joys a project brings you and your friends, as it matures, and share it as part of your work. Telling a story in images of your artwork is a way in which to share and explain its importance.

You choose the theme or subject of your project.

Jurors expect to see creative contemporary artwork and narratives, as well as an ability to reveal the creative processes by which you and your work tackle issues, whether they be personal, social, political or economic. Any approach or practice is welcome, projects can range from being documentary to fine, contemporary art, nor is medium a limitation, projects can contain different media within the same submission - photography, video, painting, drawing, print, etc.

Consider your work in a permanent state of flux, in continuous evolution.

A principal image of your project is followed by a 'Core' presentation of 9 images or videos which represent what's best or most significant in your project. During the course of the open call you can keep on adding and removing works up to a total of 60 images and videos, right-up to the deadline date. Consider a moving time frame which does not necessarily have a beginning or an end. You provide, and viewers witness and participate online, in the process of gradual coming together of artistic content, of thought, of experience, a scrapbook and a story all at the same time. The delicate balance between what is tangible and impermanent, what is perceived and what is imagined, between a finished corpus of artwork and the experimentation which preceded it, are the stages, iconographic or process-orientated, which jurors in Streamers would like to see!

Art. 2 – Projects
Artwork or images submitted in Projects can be in any artistic media, from painting to installation, to drawing and video, digital or analogue photography, cellular photography, polaroid, computer grafics, software art, collage, to be presented at the final exhibition in two or three dimensional formats. Projects can be presented as photographic essays, personal stories in the style of storytelling, fictional narratives, documentary work, photojournalism or set pieces. There are no limits to the size of works submitted. Images submitted online in JPG (at least 2,500 pixels on the longest side) or in PNG (optimised for the web) formats are uploaded in applicants’ personal accounts in Celeste Network. Before publishing your work, you can approve or not viewing in high resolution. It is possible to include up to 59 images of works in a project submitted to Streamers. Projects with less than 60 images are still valid for the prize and will be considered on a par with other projects for selection and prizes.

Art. 3 – Eligibility
Streamers is an international open call for artists, photographers and creatives. Entry is open to everyone, regardless of age, sex, experience, occupation or geographic location. It is possible to participate as an individual or as a group. Artwork, images of artwork or any inspirational material included in projects must have been created or in existence in the last 100 years, and can or cannot have been exhibited before or presented in other prizes.

For the Best Project which changes a community' jurors are looking for projects which are materially able to alter in a positive way the course of a community's behaviour, traditions, or ways in which its members relate to themselves or to the outside world. Or, to describe how the action of others have stirred to change consolidated customs.

Art. 5 - Deadline
Deadline to enter is 7th December 16th December 2016. To submit your project, it is necessary to pay the entry fee no later than the deadline. Applicants who have paid their entry fee before the deadline, can If they haven’t already done so, upload their projects in the following 7 days.

Art. 6 – Jury & Selections
By 31st January 2017, 10 finalist projects will be selected by the jury and announced online. Each juror will publish his or her preferred 10 projects online. Projects which receive most preferences will be considered finalists, if there are too many projects with equal number of preferences, the chief-juror Irene Alison will decide which are the 10 finalist projects.

Art. 7 - Exhibition & Winners
The two winning projects will be announced at the opening of the final exhibition on 20th April at the Officine Fotografiche, Rome, Italy by the chief-juror Irene Alison. The exhibition of the finalist projects from 20th April to 7th May 2017 will be personally curated by Irene Alison, who will take into account the space available at the exhibition and the spatial characteristics of each project.

Art. 8 – Entry & Fees
Online:
Project 50 € (up to 60 single images or videos), for additional Projects 40 €.

By mail:
Text and images of your Project are sent in a single mail delivery, and are uploaded in your page by Celeste staff, 110 € for one project.

Entry fees are not refundable.

There are three ways to pay entry fees and enter your project:

1. Online with credit card, payable via PayPal - you don't need a PayPal account in order to complete.
Login to your personal account in Celeste Network, if you don’t have an account, ‘Sign-up’ using the link top-right in the website’s header bar. Click on the button 'Enter a Project' in the graphics box ‘Streamers’ at the centre of your admin homepage, then choose the credit card/Paypal payment option and use your credit card or PayPal account to pay your entry fee. Activation is immediate. You can proceed to upload images, statement, description of your project or work and begin publishing.

2. By electronic bank transfer
If you choose this method you will have to wait about two working days after payment to begin upload. Make payment to: Celeste Network - Banco Posta - IBAN: IT74 W076 0114 2000 0000 5409 079 - BIC / Swift: BPPIITRRXXX - Send your entry fee in € Euro currency, net, without transfer fees or commissions payable by Celeste on receipt. For bank transfers coming from outside-Europe you must add 10 € Euro to the entry fee.

3. Western Union
Send to: Name: Steven; Surname: Music; Address: San Gimignano (Siena); Country: Italy.
Ensure that we receive your entire, entry fee amount in Euro €, net of any transfer charges. If we have to pay transfer charges your application process will be halted. Please include in the description which accompanies your payment the following: ‘Entry fee payment for Streamers by '...artist’s name, surname and country from where the money is being sent)’. Send confirmation email to info[at]celesteprize.com with the transaction code. As soon as we receive your entry fee we shall activate in your account in Celeste Network the possibility to upload your project.

How to add artwork to your Project
Login. In the graphics box ‘Streamers’ at the centre of your admin homepage click on ‘Upload a Project’, and proceed to upload a maximum of 59 images or videos, statement and description of your project. You can add a different title and description to every work in your project. It's possible to modify works already uploaded or return to the upload area at a later date and add more images of works. The first image you upload is the image which will represent your project in Celeste and will be seen in a larger format. You can then manage the 'Core' presentation with 9 images of the most important or significant works which you wish to highlight to jurors, below there follows all remaining works in your project.

Art. 9 - Production & Transport
Artists, photographers or creatives invited to exhibit their projects in the Officine Fotografiche, Rome, Italy, from 20th April to 7th May 2017, will be responsible for the costs of production of their works, transport and insurance to and from Rome, as well as any personal travel and accommodation expenses.

Art. 10 - Catalogue
A catalogue will be published which includes presentation of the finalists, images from each finalist project, and a critical introductions by Streamers' chief-juror Irene Alison.

Art. 11 - Rights
Every photographer, artist or person submitting images to Streamers retains copyright of the works, images and texts he or she uploads, but gives Celeste Network the authority to use indefinitely the same above mentioned visual and textual materials for communication and promotion purposes only; to create the catalogue or other promotional material, and to use in Celeste's websites. Artists or photographers who submit images to Streamers declare and accept that they are the authors of the images they upload and possess all rights to use these images in the competition and onsite in Celeste Network. Photographers, artists or persons uploading work guarantee that they have received permission and authorization, as required by law, from persons represented in their photographic works, or from their legal representatives. Celeste Network as organizer is not and cannot be held responsible for any dispute among photopgraphers, artists, other persons or third parties who might claim author’s rights over images of a work submitted to Streamers.

• Celeste Network has by Italian law to hand over to the Italian state 25% of prize money for tax purposes. This sum will be withheld by the organizer from each prize winner.
