Biography

Alejandra Coronado (better known as Alukandra, pseudonym used since 2006) was born in Ciudad Juarez on July 21, 1985, she’s graduate in Graphic Design from the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (2010). She has been interested in photography since 2005, specially artistic photography (like abstract, minimalistic and urban). She has worked and collaborated on some independent projects, as local, national and international cultural and artistic events, like Bazar del Monu, Juárez: ciudad que se restaura, Inside Out: Be the change, No lugares de la frontera, Todo x la foto (to name a few). She also participated in various photo contests at local, national and international level, obtaining the first place in "“Villa Paso del Norte: Mi Ciudad en el Centenario de la Revolución Mexicana”, in 2010 in Ciudad Juarez. She has taken part in solo and group exhibitions in different places of her hometown and region (Centro Municipal de las Artes, Parque Central Poniente, Centro Cultural Paso del Norte, Instituto Municipal de Investigación y Planeación, Plataforma Cultural de Las Misiones, Consulado de México en El Paso, Tx, Biblioteca Pública de Cd. Delicias, among others). She has taken several courses, workshops and diploma courses related to photography, art therapy, mandalas, meditation, holistic healing, etc., linking artistic expression for personal and spiritual development. She has given talks about photography at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey Campus Cd. Juárez, Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez and participated as a panelist on "Women and education in a new social pact: creativity, art and culture.", within the Memorial Day of International Women's Day at the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional (Ciudad Juárez, 2014). Currently, she works as a graphic designer, freelance photographer and workshop facilitator; also organizes the project "Charlas Fotográficas" (Photography talks) and manages the development of photography and art workshops with holistic purposes, linking art therapy and meditation.
