Biography
Annnie Rodrigue’s works of art are such of soft poetry where, in certain darker, even sinister parts, surge words, letters, phrases from an dreamed up language, brushed on the canvas, suggesting an experience both literary and pictorial.
A former art teacher, she now entirely dedicates herself to her career as a painter. She sets forth expressive and original abstract contemporary works of arts which point out in a very special way her authenticity and my creative impulse.
Painting has been to her a way of expressing what she could not say with words. She thus freeded herself from some inner agitations. To Annie, creating has become a way of living,a need. Therefore, Art becomes liberator through the instinctive and expressive gesture.
The quality and originality of my work improve day after day because of the confidence brought to her by the public and galeries’ reponse. To create depth on the canvas, she tries new techniques, such as scraping, which magnifies the depth on the canvas and suggests something secret, something left unsaid, and explore overlapping or washed paint. Drippings, wash drawings, printing with objects, and scribbling are also preliminary researches that rapidly became her art style.
But she always has in mind her main objective, to create a variety of feelings by expressing her own emotions and this, by capitalizing on a balanced composition, enhanced with light and transparency.
Annie puts the finishing touch to her technique year after year. She has worked very hard to develop her potential and thus discover a style which is all hers. Annie now can more easily convey her emotions in her paintings due to the movement and the depth of the colors put on canvas. They transform themselves to become her image, colorful, spontaneous and dynamic.
