HeavenGate
Does art belong in a museum or in a gallery? Not if you ask F.man. In 2009, she transformed the garage door on the facade of fashion designer Walter Van Beirendonck's shop into an inspiring heaven gate in an attempt to relaunch street art. "Think of it as a gate which through the materials used broadens the mind. Depending on where you stand and how you look at a work, you can see something else of which "heaven gate" is a perfect example.
Elements such as earth, air, nature, the sun, the galaxy, and the moon eclipse are addressed. F.man brings them in the picture by using unconventional materials such as fluorescent, metal and phosphorus. "The aim is to fool the spectator, and simultaneously offer him more than what he sees at first sight."
