Memory
The photographs posted on the boards consist of two collections, belonging to a member of my family, photographed inside of a white wardrobe. Submit photographs to the ground and turn them into components of a well known memory game, a methodology for identifying alternative approach to archival documents, which define the latent identity, to "play" with the concept of personal memory and the value the visual perception of the archive, giving these issues can broaden their horizons to new areas of reflection.
Today we live in an era in which space takes on a new value in relation to time. A space-time where the dislocation due to the increasingly prominent virtuality of life, led to the creation of ephemeral and vague places in which to ensure awareness of their identity.
They all look and act the same way every day. The game presents itself as a system in which the repetition puts the viewer in a context where the instructions are provided to find himself in the archive of my family. The repetition of images is intended to translate, through the artistic act, Derrida's concept according to which the identity is affirmed when it is reflected, declared and proclaimed from what comes from taking place. One reason for existence becomes definite only after an event has made it temporarily uncertain.
The installation, put in these terms, provides a context in which the viewer has to create for themselves the reality of who wants to see, the right of choice is a right that often is lost in a mass society in which life is increasingly automating. Memory is the choice for me.
