Imagined Histories

Imagined Histories

The photographic work presented here focuses on distortion and invention, exploring the notion that every time a memory is recalled it is re-shaped or re-invented. Images use old and new material, the found and the invented, and are re-worked to the point of being barely recognisable as a record of their original source. It is as far from photo-realism as it is possible to get. In line with Foucault's thinking, they ask us to doubt or question what we are looking at.
