Flow of Ego

One of the main distinguishing features of our age is all-pervasive individualism. No previous era was characterized by so much awareness and diversity of human beings. Nevertheless we increasingly feel like a single mass and despite the efforts we put to highlight our individuality, the crowd around us, consumes us equally. For this reason, in my art, I turn to the phenomena that I think are universal, not shouting praise of individuality, but showing our equality in relation to the whole. The main role plays the Nature, which laws are immutable and every person regardless of their individual characteristics is dependant from it in the same way. The bas-relief "Flow of the Ego" uses my fingerprint in the way suggesting random arrangement of the moving liquid bark. I want to realize in this way the randomness, variability and short duration of our Self in comparison to Nature, for which we are only temporary yet beautiful mosaics.
