Welcome to Nollywood
The Nigerian Film Industry colloquially known as Nollywood is the second largest film industry in the world in terms of annual film production. The drawing depicts a Nigerian man is dressed in masquerade to represent nature or esteemed ancestors who guide, judge or entertain the living, he is pointing a camera at a piece of coral which is symbolic of a diverse and thriving ecosystem. The Man, made to look camouflaged, also a reference to nature documentaries, represents lesser known African religions that are widely unrecognised in the western world. Ancient mythology and imagery can help set a new precedent for the film and TV production industries of developing worlds and in turn they can help to replace stagnant money making ideologies such as the Hollywood film industry.
