Dancers Project
This project explores the experience of dancing, from the perspectives of professional dancers.
The video is made of still pictures, stop motion, fluent video and interviews.
I chose to work with dancers for three reasons.
Firstly, dancing is a non-verbal form of communication, like photography.
Secondly, dancing is not static, I can give hints of movement through a picture, I can freeze it or describe it, but actual movement and duration are part of the nature of dancing, like video.
Thirdly, as dancing has its own choreography to establish a narrative, I also had to edit the still pictures and the video in order to establish a narrative.
