The Border' ...is a timely exploration of how the rhetoric and ideological freight of 'invasive species' project national anxieties onto the natural world. Four years in the crafting, a frondescent gothic theatre abounds in botanical metaphor featuring that contentious denizen of the Mediterranean, Cynara Cardunculus (the Cardoon).
