In short my work is a constant dialogue between the historical and traditional concepts that lie within painting, sculpture, and the material; and also the physical attributes that remain within materials and products.
I see painting as a discipline that must be explored, challenged and broken.
Although there is one main theme in my work, I am always being informed by other things, such as architecture, and the position and involvement of the audience.
In regard to the aesthetic and contextual setting in which my work sits, I attempt to challenge the very idea of what painting is, and where one draws the line between painting and sculpture when the work enters three-dimensional space.
