Potala Palace is a digital print based off of three large scale ink drawings on vellum. The piece is based off of on site studies of the Potala Palace in Lhasa, and describes the process of pilgrimage. Furthermore, the work describes the transcendent relationship between the body, the building, and the sacred landscape. It is through the accumulation of tiny figures of the pilgrim exploring different postures of the body that coalesce into the sacred structure. The process through which the architecture takes form poetically describes how we remember space and place.
