Although abstract, Marco Kaufmann’s pictures are replete with such elements as space and atmosphere. They demonstrate an artistic orientation towards the private side of life without, however, constituting an occupation with internal states of mind. His pictures exude a light and cheerful glow and are pictorial and two-dimensional in conception whilst remaining easy to read and unprogrammatic in a certain regard. Forced gesturing is, however, absent. Marco Kaufmann is searching for opportunities rather than coincidences. Kathleen Krenzlin
