The Surrey Swimmer
”The Surrey Swimmer” was developed in collaboration with a Canadian public art consultant and conceived for a new public aquatic centre.
The proposed sculpture would be cast in polished aluminum and the plinth fabricated of glass illuminated with color changing LED´s supported from solar energy.
With 95 competitive entries from around the world, we were not shortlisted. I love the vintage figurative quality combined with new light technology, it's a nod to the social component of a community swim as well as hope for the future. The concept is strong and the Surrey Swimmer may yet find another host in the future.
