Money Mills

Money Mills

Sculpture, Still life, 45x135x45cm
We reclaimed three passe-vites. These kitchen tools are being used to wrench potatoes and other vegetables into a puree. With a handsaw, we have cut/sawn out the most appealing parts of the logos of three finance companies. First there was the finance company “Gemeentekrediet” which later became “Dexia” (that had the big bankcrisis) and now it has become “Belfius”.
The comparison between the action asked by the passevites and the action done by the finance companies is the same: wrench our money. With the bank crisis one thing became clear: our money has lavished. The passevites are sorted by age as the new bank has the same promises and fairy tales as the old one….and the new finance company will do the same as the old one…..

This work has recently been selected by M hka to reflect on "Peak Communism" by Meldibekov.

We only show two of the three money mills as the exhibition has just opened. More pictues will follow.
