Contemporary Coop. Based on history when animals became domestic. Chickens and pigs used to run around in house just to eat/clean anything that was on the floor. We replaced the animals with robot vacuum cleaners. All will become automated in the future. These are the new domestic animals or pets. This modern chicken coop is thus a critical reflection on a rapidly changing technological society which nevertheless seem to bring little new content and the same challenges always remain. And just like chickens in their coop, those pets create a certain chaos, a tangle of robots. But they all act to a certain pattern. Like in life, there is a line in chaos.
This was an installation at SCK, the dismantled nuclear plant in october 2012.
