Big Fish, Little Fish

Ancient fossil filigree,
Speaks in mute soliloqoy,
Of dart and dash,
And silver flash,
The Large engulphs the Small.
The Triumph gone,
What lingers on?

Just dust,
Just bone,
Just ash.
