Gineceo

Painting, Political / Social, Oil, 80x60x7cm
In the ancient Greece gynaeceum is the innermost part of the house riserved for women. This reflects the subordinate condition of Greek woman, who was continuosly controlled by her husband, who had full legal right over her. But after centuries of ghettoization woman ridded herself of the male game. Women are today out of the dark lake of the male dictatorship, even if with many difficulties.
Surely we didn't yet reached the gynaeceumcracy, but women took the right street in order to see the peak of the mountain of that watershed, that show the perfect parity of woman with man.

For this reason the artist represents a woman, who free herself of dark androgenic waters and she raises, with a jump, from that things that she was entirely dominated for more than a millenium.
