Across the universe
When I conceived Across the Universe I was in a gallery in the last days of one of my personal exhibitions. No one came in, so I started observing the copper threads that composed one of my installations of the Jumpers. I started thinking that copper is one of the most ancient materials used by humanity and is still irreplaceable today. Suddenly, a gipsy came in asking for charity. Before he left he glanced at the shining copper.
Copper, I thought, a symbol of crisis but also of rebirth, conductor of life.
