I’ll be mother

The installation consists of the written mother will be formed by Molotov cocktails.
The work is very well my current physical and mental state, in 2012 I became pregnant and this event as well as bring the joys I generated a lot of frustration and concerns, especially about the future of myself and my daughter.
I think this is a period for Italy and for Europe characterized by a deep political crisis, economic and social. I suspect that there is a great social unrest, especially the younger generations who will suffer even more to the situation. And I am included in this think and situation.
I want to reflect on the two opposite feelings that live inside me right now.
On the one hand a phrase very joyful and full of hope, I’ll be mother, on the other hand the object chosen to compose the message: the Molotov cocktail, a weapon destructive and violent.
The Molotov cocktail was born during the Spanish Civil War and then widely used in the protests of the people and the urban warfare, in my opinion, the symbol of the violent civil malaise. This object is a weapon in all respects, but very easy to build home and I would say, therefore, accessible to all and that’s why the weapon closest to me.
With this installation, I try to express any discomfort and lack of confidence that I have for my country even if I leave some space for hope, the birth of a new life.
