Painting, Memory, Portrait, Mixed technique, 150x230cm
This work stems from an awareness, a childish distant memory of a bone disease. I find the visual representation a necessary and functional communication of such physical and emotional conditions, so I drew in pen and then transferred on paper a human skeleton that if observed carefully denotes a malformation. A representation of myself, inserted in an aseptic empty space, where time acts undisturbed. A decay of the body, represented by exostosis that affect the skeleton's anatomical perfection, reflects the corrosive action implemented by time on the work itself: the paper will absorb all the oil that will leave no trace, the ink exposed to light will fade. The overall result is a mark that cannot avoid a bending action from an unstoppable time. Rather than my flesh I represent my bones as an intimate portrayal of the pain. An unrecognizable self-portrait.

Ottimo lavoro
