His paintings are part of private collections and French cultural institutions including the Alliance française in Paris and La Grande Loge de France.
Vladimir KARA was curator, organizer and art director of the following group exhibitions: "Born in the USSR – Made in France" Paris (2010), "Nomad Borders" Paris (2010), "Jerusalem Celestial – Jerusalem Terrestrial" (2008); "Sept manières de dire merci" in collaboration with the Alliance française Paris, Bahrain (April 2009), Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine (May 2009), Bogotá, Colombia (July 2009), Italy (October 2009), "De l’urbain à l’humain", Paris (2009).
Vladimir Kara’s search is a revival of figurative symbolism: "Notwithstanding that inspiration is historical or contemporary, a subtle game is carried out, which takes place on an invisible border, in-between where the figurative evidence is nothing more than the limit and the mask of a symbolic representation".
"Employing a symbolic and figurative vocabulary, I try to solve the perpetual problem which is posed by the pictorial surface. In an important part of my work, I seek to highlight the way how biblical and mythological subjects revert contemporary issues by asking today eternal questions".
