One day reality
This painting is based on a photograph I took of a print on paper with an image of a butterfly. The printed paper is cut on the butterfly's wings outline and slightly lifted. The paper is fixed with a nail that pierces through the image of the butterfly.
The work is an exercise in obtaining a three-dimensional image out of a bi-dimensional one. The entire scene is composed to look like a home-made insectarium assembled from recyclable materials.
The drawing overlapping the image is an explanation on how to draw a perfect circle with a nail, a string and a pencil.
