Aureola No.13

Sculpture, Spirituality, Architecture, Landscape, Metal, 186x240x34cm
In my new sculpture project Aureola Series, the very solid and abstract materials, steel and light, are being employed in the work that allows me to explore the relationship between artistic expression and the presence, as well as absence, of the body. By using steel and light as the metaphor of physical elements and spiritual experience, I attempt to investigate the duality of the body.

In making the steel wearable sculptures or constructions that allow the body to interact with, I also took reference to the history of tortures and punishment. By adopting the tangible and intangible materials, I try to connote the idea of the physical and the spiritual, as well as that of the freed and the constrained, which is expected to lead the audience to a new level of understanding the relationship between art and the body, and the different senses generated through the artworks.
