Studio B&W per Salomé 1

About the digital painting: Salomé by Mataro da Vergato:

I decided to attach with my work SALOME 'also his photographic studio basic (black and white) from where I started and a second passage of the first color. I do this for two main reasons: first to make it clear to those who view my work that this comes from one of my creative journey and precise compositional started in 1990 which included a lot of work not only of conception and design that flowed in the photo shoot but also the subsequent work (always on my part) developing in the darkroom, which is the negative of the press, which was then scanned and brought into the computer to be processed digitally and second because with Salomé also closes the period associated with the use of analog camera (Nikon F3 and Hallselblad 6x6) and my final use of the digital camera.
Shoot images in black and white is, in my concept of Digital Painting, drawing or sketch of the work designed, starting from reality. A drawing of light that will be scanned once and then colored digitally manipulated with the computer which contemporary color palette. So the complexion of the princess rather than the dress wearing or the color of the hair of the Prophet and his blood dripping from her neck cut are the result of an exclusive color research, compositional and pictorial obtained exclusively with the use of computers and without any editing or post production work on the final and definitive.
The photo studio in black and white make us see how the role of Salomé (as its head in the second step), all the jewels, the arm holding the lily and the bowl under the head of John the Baptist were created or added or changed back to the computer in the composition of the work.
