Cape York

Cape York

Painting, Spirituality, Landscape, Acrylic, 100x180x2.5cm
A contemporary Indigenous artwork of Cape York Peninsular. To non-Australians, that's the poiny part of the country's east coast.

The colours are inspired by the green of the Great Dividing Range, the reds of the desert and bush regions and the purples of the Great Barrier Reef. The sweeping brush work is inspired by the work and techniques of renowned Aboriginal artist, Sally Gabori.

This artwork was exhibition in 2012 for the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair's Indigenous Beautiful Art Spaces program- an initiative of the Cairns Regional Council and Queensland State Government, and also a solo exhibition held at the Salt House Bar & Restaurant in October, 2012.
