"Mopping the skin" (work performance)
The artist clenches the mop with the teeth, and on his knees cleans the floor of the dirty marks, footpaths and dust, within the shadow on the walls. The performance metaphorically recreates a reflective image of “Being in the space” and “Being in time”.
The present viewers / participants will interact in achieving a better understanding of shared experience in a defined moment and help to situate themselves to face the space that identifies the moment (in the Gallery) socially, economically, and politically.
The performance leaves behind a bucket of dirty water and a mop in the space, which the following Gallery viewers are confronted with: initially, foot printed marks on the floor, signs of the past living presence on the floor, a contemplative image, which will in turn, turn to dust, invisible to the naked eye, a disappearing body.
The work could be performed few times, the duration be adapted in length and to a particular space.
