GOING HOME

Painting, Memory, Abstract informal, Acrylic, 244x122x5cm
This artwork is a recollection of a childhood memory, a visit back to my hometown where I grew up. A quaint little northern town where I was surrounded by nature’s greenery, wildlife and the calming blue of Lake Superior. The accents of red, pink, yellow and orange symbolize the warmth of the summer sun and the warmth of kindness of the townspeople. The solid black bars represent the strong foundation of my upbringing. The black fluid lines energetically move throughout the canvas, while the intense, vibrant colours convey joy and exhilaration.
