Trasformazione (autunno)
"Transformations" is a small landscape painting depicting the autumn colors of changing leaves reflected in the bend of Wissahickon Creek in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. The painting is a re-make of an unpublished painting that I did on site (plein-air) long ago. It is painted in a similar style to the original, namely, in an alla prima style, using a minimum of white and allowing the original ground color to show through.
I painted this piece in anticipation of the fall season, the start of which can be felt and seen around me now. It is intended to be the first in a series depicting the four seasons.
