‘INFECTIOUS SETTLEMENT’
Work of art details: it is the first step of a four-step project: Infectious Settlement, Communication Changes Ever Since The 1950s, Stand Up! and Back To The Future. Each component shows a different stage of the man-earth/life relationship.
The title “Infectious settlement” reflects itself human being’s attitude – it’s proved - since he showed up onto the earth. What do virus do once in our body? They try to survive in every possible way, and spread everywhere regardless of damages they may cause to the environment which is actually hosting them. That’s what men have always done since they are on the earth. But what’s worst is that we are aware of the consequences our actions have on mother earth, and we simply ignore them, our sadistic and masochist philosophy is destroying everything we need to survive.
The rocks symbolize the earth when still unspoiled, the power chips stand for our settlement which spreads all the time, while the spheres correspond to different religions and faiths which have always been our societies’ roots, and may their future.
