Rolling Eye Balls

The work was shot with a phone camera and does portray the artist observing the camera's lens, her surrounding and the viewer. As she rolls her eyes in rapid movements, the act of observation gains a somewhat mechanical and cyber shape. The looping act is being played on a flat ipad screen which, with clear marbles installed in front of it is placed inside a frosted glass tank. The overall installation is Introducing the element of disorientation, and inviting the viewer to have a closer look in order to discover the work's initial nature. Rolling Eye Balls is in a way re-thinking ways in which the personal identity is manipulated with the gaze of the observer. 'The Gaze' in it's literal sense, is here manipulated, split, multiplied and magnified with the use of marbles. Finally, the latter layer of frosted glass does make the overall experience dissolve and become blended within a single layer and surface.
