Maschere

Maschere

Digital Photography, Beauty, Portrait, Digital, 24x36cm
There is a moment in the life of an actor when he’s not yet on stage, or no longer. At that instant, the mask he usually wears is deposed, and then a look reveals insecurity and joy, fatigue and passion, thrill of the first scene, melancholy due to the curtain which falls, once again.
This photo is part of a larger project entitled “Masks”, in which I represent diverse faces of Mara Scagli, actress and dancer. Although the shooting didn’t take place on stage, we have both “played” to be in and out of that world. I chose this picture because it arises from a suspension of that play, a moment when Mara, through her eyes, gave us both her authenticity.
