Happy Island Surrounded Barriera

In 1980 Christo and Jeanne Claude conceived Surrounded Islands, Biscayne Bay, Greater Miami, Florida, i.e. they thought to surround 11 of the artificial islands that surrounded Greater Miami of pink polypropylene cloth, colour that represents american frivolity Loftcommunity as each of those islands is dipped in a sea that is the one of diversity: cultural, religious and geographycal- I imagined that the diversity, transformed in a positive energy as the one transfer by the sea, isbringing life to those places. To realize this sea I have used 1080 garbage envelopes(600 mq). One of the quarter Barriera di Milano in Torino characteristics is garbage. Waste envelopes are blue as ones we use to throw out at the end of the day, but we never associate to them sea, as we are abstracted by ugliness and smells around us. In the same way as we are not able to look at human value as we are abstracted by external aspect. I have then discovered that all the islands that surrounded Greater Miami were used as rubbish store, I have found this coincidence agreeably odd.
