Living Room (The Uncanny (Das Unheimliche) series)

Living room is part of the project called Das Unheimliche(The Uncanny) inspired by Sigmund Freud's concept. The moment where something is familiar, yet strange at the same time. It causes a weird feeling of being uncomfortably odd or uncomfortably familiar. For me, this cognitive dissonance happens with the human absence at home, especially when there are traces or memories of yourself at home.

Taking a miniature as an approach, I created my own mini world as a mean to represent that feeling of uncanny; making it looks real but not real, showing a home with a trace of human but without one.

For me, portrait represent feeling and something about a person. and this picture is a portrait of a portrait of myself representing my memories and who I am.
