LAMPA
I immediately had the idea to build some boxes with illegal wood boats and waste found on the beaches, skeletons floating in rivers and rasted Irons. cut, glued and transformed. At the halfway point I felt the need to go to Lampedusa, to go and see what was happening there, and to ask to migrants one thing that I could no longer: How do you live and not survive? I found it an unexpected vitality and hope of opening up to life in spite of everything, in spite of the crossing, the desert, deprivation, separation from family. From this experience was born without faces a video and photos without migrants. Once back I finished the installation and the boxes have begun to color the color of the boats deposited in the cemetery of boats in Lampedusa, and to This installation is for me like a starry sky becomes dark deep sea in which the fish swim in the dark and turns again becoming magma asking out overbearing as in possession dances, I was possessed by this story and now I show itlight, becoming lamps opening to life. Do what you like. Jndj
The installation consists of 25 boxes, 4 of which are lamps, and pieces of trash found on beaches and in Lampedusa Italian, half a cast iron bathtub and cardboard suitcases, some rusty oil tank and a deer skull. The tables were constructed by me, everything you see, including wooden boxes were recycled, picked up on the bins and used for this installation. Plus a video, plus some photo taken in Lampedusa in October 2013.
