Fuga in Egitto

Fuga in Egitto

Oil on canvas. 205 x 180 cm. 2008.
The painting depicts a fictional contemporary Holy Family fleeing to Egypt, as in the biblical story. The painting is intended to draw attention to the many immigrants, who are often seen rummaging through the garbage bins, fleeing war and persecution. The characters depicted were constructed by assembling pieces of newspapers and wire in modern clothes. Once you have created the still life-size and with real objects like the buggy and skatole, was made the painting from life. The scene was ambientanda in a hypothetical way of a historic Italian.
The painting is part of the series of paintings "Now", consisting of several pictorial works.
The cycle has been exhibited in the exhibition "Now," held in 2010 in Penne (Pe) Italy, and in 2011 in a gallery in Naples Italy.
