Natura MORTA

Natura MORTA

A timeless vision of " Still Life ", not only to vindicate the dignity of a genre considered minor ( already in the Hellenistic era is beginning to use the mosaic depicting the food dropped on the floor by the board and intended to deceased family members , was the third century AC Perhaps the earliest examples of still life ), but to represent the deepest and most realistic sense of Nature in rapid decline.
The decision to use a black and white negative is dictated by the desire to represent the dark and decadent side of the old representation .
The images are realized through long direct exposure of photographic paper which is then immediately developed in the darkroom. Images in 4x5 " on baryta paper .
The subjects reveal the drama of nature that dies and the presence of all that we produce today and goes to replace the land and the vision of the fruits that have always been subject in the artistic representation of the "still life" through the ages.
Plants , fruits, vegetables , televisions , nails, oil , detergents , preservatives, eggs are all mixed in portraits out of time with the intent to reflect who SEES the precariousness of the substance.
