Installation, Human figure, Various materials, 53x44x16cm
The work comes up from a resarch on the human figure that takes distances from the classical way to render the body proportions. The neutral color and the deconstruction of the anatomy makes the shape gain a strong evocative power: the subject seems to be more a set of lines than a real being, as if what you see would be the transposition of a thought. The title is a sort of cue of the idea that gave birth to the work, not a definitive explanation of it. To someone it maybe will appear as the oldest work of the world... a propos of that I will quote the words of Ernst Gombrich (Art and Progress) " It seems that Ingres answered " They say we have to go with the times, for what reason, if the times are wrong?" and we have to admit that it's not easy to answer this question."
