This concerns the ambiguity between the representation of space and the reality of the landscape. The interchangeable images of the city, its emptiness, leave space for the topology , considered as a way of understanding the structure of the imaginary, the symbolic and the real.
The symbolic determines the imaginary and the real, and in turn, Lacan says, "the imaginary and the real are at the same level". The tension here is between the roles of communicating, generalizing and the controlling of the project, and the inevitable informal depending on the context in which the project is superimposed, this is a district or a wall.
