'anti' or 'fearful symmetry'
A series of GIF animated drawings on loop.
Displayed on medium sized (ideally 17inch) digital screen (alternatively projected onto screen/wall)
Drawings were produced with pen on Din A5 notebook paper, following my subconscious during the process and resisting the urge to let the drawing become ‘something’ (recognizable).
The digitized drawings are turned into symmetric GIF animations which allow them to become ‘something’ and visualize a constant battle between resisting and following dynamics, the urge to fix something, the need to recognize, resisting symmetry or allowing something unexpected to take shape.
