Dolls usually reminds us the lost world of childhood. The characterization of men and women miniaturized; robbed by their expressivity and vitality.
For a little girl it’s absolutely normal to play with dolls.
Ball-Jointed dolls (BJD) collectionists are grown up people with a passion for oriental dolls, extremely expensives and completely customizable. I wanted to know their stories.
For a collector, his doll could represent his alter-ego. His parallel personality, that never grew up .The trasposition of a thought or a drow in a real object.
Everyone of them has a different life, a different purpose to collect dolls and customize them with their own hands.
My project consist in a series of portrait that represents the similarity from dolls and it's collector.
