Untitled (Firewood)
Objects are wrapped in a piece of canvas, often using staples (marks from the staples can be seen on the surface of the canvas afterwards as little holes) to keep the canvas around the object. After the canvas has been wrapped around the object paint is applied to the surfaces of the canvas covering the object. As the paint is applied, accidental marks appear on the folds of the canvas not covering the object, thus leaving accidental marks of the production process. A transformation from 3D object to 2D surface!
After the paint has been drying the canvas is removed from the object and put onto a stretcher.
