Little Ghosts.
Mercy Thuo runs the "Children Home" in Mathare. In the last 20 years she adopted more than 300 children taken from the street and also managed to send most of them to school. This is a story about a woman who decided to leave her secure and safe life (she was born in a rich family) to create a home for these children inside Mathare. I do not know if the story is completely true, but I would like to document it.
This photo is a long exposure in infrared using an old nikon D90. I asked Mercy to stay as still as possible while the children were free to move. The idea was to show these kids as ghosts, almost without a face.
