Perso in un pesce d'acqua
The work simulates water leaking from the roof of a room. Water doesn't fall all the way to the ground, but is collected inside a glass on the floor, which contains some milk.
If we stand in front of the installation, while a video is projected through it, the glass appears partially full, with drops of water randomly appearing to be falling from the roof. The movement of the water creates the silhouette of a fish that seems to be moving inside of the shade generated by the ray of light on the glass. That creates the illusion of looking at the sea bed.
Looking at this piece of art, you'll feel immersed in a hybrid dimension which, through the separation of the image and the installation, creates a source of cognitive and sensorial dissonance between vessel and content.
While utilizing the breakdown and consolidation of the visual language, the viewer can define the conditions to reflect on the idea of space, time and fiction. The art also allows for an introspection of the multiple linguistic conventions of the different visual, verbal and syntax levels.
