Deriva (Adrift)

Installation, Freedom, Still life, Various materials, 5x4cm
The photograph of the surface of a plum is mount- ed on a gilded brass plate and installed in the cor- ner of a room.
This way of depicting the object (a plum) breaks all connections with its coded identity, whether linked to name or appearance; it remains just a surface, now indefinable, inexpressible, that “opens up” to the cosmos, to the abyss, to chaos or to chance.
Now, something that was “just” a plum is a new subject in the world, capable of being looked at without constraints: you can lose yourself in it, continually Adrift.
