Grapnel

Grapnel

This painting has a distinct sense of place, while hinting at the visceral. There is a lynchean fantasy lurking here with blurred boundaries between fantasy and reality, imagination and truth. The use of metaphor in colour and marks within my painting is important. The flesh coloured veil, for instance, in Grapnel creates a visual barrier. This play on space, where there is a visual path that leads the eye through space on the surface-inviting in some areas and obstructing in others, is a concept that I am interested in and I am currently developing in my work.

Colour painted as you wanted it! I see you had alot of fun painting this piece.
Let it out through painting and communicate to self is always wonderful thing. I love let things out. Not holding and truly communicate with them. Like child and I love to see it from others like I do with mine.
I love who are themself totally.
Lovely sharing and thank you letting me part of your journey in this life!
Wonderful meeting you my dear friend Chelsea Hughes!

To achieve quality is not necessarily difficult and painful. The only thing we need is to learn how to open the creative right side of our brain... It seems to me that this is the case of your work.
