Push my tongue
what happens when art, instead of just letting itself being watched, becomes the one who watch?
since we, artists, are becoming everytime more ironical and even funny in making our "performances" and "installations", we can feel allowed to state that a normal "oil on canvas" with a scanner arbitrarily put on it, is actually able to look inside us, to the deepest of each one.
I put all I know of art on this canvas and yes, that is an actual working scanner on it.
My name is Luca Berto, I'm italian. When I was born computers were nothing more than ornaments in our living-rooms.
Twenty years later we're even trying to stick them up in our asses.
I spent all my life studying computers, to their deepest physic elements ( I'm an electronical engineer).
Let's now rise these objects, idols and fetishes of our culture, to the range of proper works of art, matching them with the powerful past of oil of canvas!
looking for newness?
I put working electronic loops on the canvas and clean them up with the oil colour.
Watch it working on
