Untitled 6.2009
To realize this I use multiple elements that comprise found objects, recycled elements, and available materials that are carefully manipulated and painted. This results in composed environments that often respond to the specifics of a given space. In the process the contrasting states introduce physical and psychological tensions.
I’m interested at introducing strategies that do not follow any historical theory, trusting rather to my own inventiveness. This allows me to be open to the use of the explicit, the non-authoritarian and the infinitely playful. These improvisatory elements within my approach enable to the work to be accessible to multiple interpretations.
In the process there is a notion of changing, of a lost originality that includes deception, distance, surface and weight. The refining and adding to a growing vocabulary of form is accentuated by elements being rejoined and recycled from one sculpture to another.
