The Weight of the World

The title comes from the phrase 'The weight of the world is on their shoulders', meaning it feels like your problem makes you feel like you are carrying all the worlds problems.

The piece depicts a partially finished face, deep in thought. I have only used the minimal amount of facial features to express a level of contemplation.

Oil paint is applied in thick layered strokes creating expressive marks that add to the sense of angst.
