Out Of Water
This ambiguity of natural versus artificial, the human longing and dependency, yet being emanzipated, plays a great role in my artistic approach and is visually fed by the raw surroundingsof my childhood: Construction sites and huge areas of wildly growing flowers -the humanmade andthe untouched cosily coexisting.
In this piece I explored resin, symbol for our modern society, in which surfaces become smoother and shinier and where reality seems to be made out of plastic. I combined this with old fashioned crochet tabledecoration associated with the last century and the most ordinary everyday life object, a plate. There are many contradicting implications, as well as the aspect of beauty in our human struggle to connect, find purpose, conserve as well as making progress.
